“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” -Helen Keller
Patients and Families: Volunteers are able to visit with patients and their families in order to provide companionship and a supportive presence. Volunteers can assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, play cards with patients, do crafts, write letters and read books or short stories to patients.
Siegenthaler Center Volunteers: Siegenthaler center volunteers are scheduled to visit with patients and their families in our beautiful four bed residence. Volunteers may visit with patients, read to patients, assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
We Honor Veterans: The Hospice Volunteer would deliver a certificate pin to those Hospice patients that have served our country. The volunteer has an opportunity to meet the patient and thank them for their services. Our veteran patients and families have found this to be very meaningful and appreciated.
Office Assistance: The ideal Hospice Volunteer for this assignment would be someone who is computer savvy and willing to learn! We have a specific need for data entry and assistance in our bereavement department. You can work right along with our hospice office team!
Hairdresser: The Hospice Volunteer would need to be a licensed hairdresser or barber, who visits hospice patients and provides a haircut. This service helps boost a patient’s spirit and helps maintain their dignity wen they are no longer able to travel to received haircuts.
