You Don't Have to Grieve Alone

When experiencing the loss of a loved one there may be many different thoughts, feelings, and emotions happening all at once. Everyone mourns in their own unique way. Grief can affect us emotionally, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

Even though grief is a natural and healthy reaction to the death of a loved one, it may feel overwhelming and isolating. The support offered by hospice does not end at death. Our bereavement team can provide individual grief counseling if your loved one received hospice services. Our bereavement team is available to listen, support and guide you through your grief process.

Even if your loved one was not on our hospice services, we offer a variety of support groups and workshops where you can connect with others who have faced a loss and learn more about grief. We can offer educational materials, books, information about resources both online and in the community.

If you would like to speak with one of our bereavement counselors, you can call 315-735-6484 ext. 1214

Bereavement Support Groups

It can be helpful to meet with others who are in similar situations. Joining a bereavement care support group provides you with the opportunity to:

  • Talk openly about your loss with others
  • Hear from others who have gone through similar situations
  • Encourage those who are experiencing similar emotions
  • Hospice & Palliative Care has a wide range of support groups available to help you work through your grief. There is no charge for bereavement groups or workshops. Donations are always appreciated.
